Growing up, I made it through about three quarters of my Red Cross swim program (to level “Green”, as it was called back then) but never considered myself a strong swimmer. As an adult I worked to improve my stroke, particularly front crawl, by taking adult swim classes and did improve a bit. But during my first session with Lyuben, I learned specialized exercises and drills that corrected my alignment, which was really the source of my struggles in the water. He showed me simple and effective ways to make a big impact on my performance, which actually made swimming easier! My body awareness in the water increased tenfold. Overall, Lyuben provided me with many tools to use in my practice that I am still implementing today.
Lyuben is also a pleasure to work with—good-humoured and patient, but also determined and ready to push his students harder. I would recommend him to anybody who is looking for a real expert who is a passionate and results-driven coach
