Lyuben

I Will Swim Owner and head coach

Lyuben is a professional swimmer and coach with over twenty-five years experience. A graduate of the esteemed National Sports Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria, Lyuben has a degree in swim coaching. He also swam competitively on the Bulgarian national swim team and won two third places at nationals—his stroke of choice being the 100-metre butterfly.

 In 2005, Lyuben moved to the United States where he began his own private coaching business and passed on his skills and technique to his clients.

There he continued to compete in the US national Masters Swimming short course indoor and long distance open-water competitions, receiving silver and three bronze medals in 2006, 2010, 2012 and 2013 respectively. He was also a member of the U.S. Masters Swimming association, and worked as a swim coach at The Spa at Trump and the Chicago Swim School. Now based in Vancouver, Lyuben has been teaching for over 9 years in Metro Vancouver.

Trifon started swimming at the of six, and would swim competitively for over twenty years. Some of the best years of his life. He was also a triathlete champion in his home country of Bulgaria.

 

Over ten years later, and he finds himself in Vancouver with his wife Poli and two children.

The birth of his son, Alen, inspired Trifon to pursue teaching again; he now trains clients in swimming and kettle-bell lifting as a Canadian national champion.

 

Trifon holds a bachelor degree in sport science and swimming from the National Sport Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria, and has authored many illustrated books on kettle-bell lifting.
